6x21 "Black Hearts": Jane and Lisbon Tiptoe Around the D.C. Issue (Sneak Peek #2)
The two attempt a serious conversation about the future, but it doesn't quite work out in a first look at Sunday's penultimate episode.
The Mentalist's penultimate episode dives into that very question, with the description promising that a decision will be made over whether Lisbon will leave with Pike for D.C. or stay with Jane and the FBI -- though last week, Jane made the decision to let her go.
The Hollywood Reporter debuts an exclusive scene from Sunday's hour, "Black Hearts," which kicks off with Lisbon coming into the FBI office with Jane's favorite tea as he sleeps on his iconic brown couch. "I always did like that couch," Lisbon says, reminiscing.
After some idle chitchat, Lisbon and Jane start to have a serious conversation about her potential move. "Jane...," she starts. But she's soon interrupted by a ringing phone call from Agent Fischer updating her on the week's kidnapping case.
The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on CBS.

Why Is Jane Under Arrest? (Sneak Peek #4, 6x20)
The Mentalist's Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) isn't one for sentimental speeches, but it looks like he might have to pull one out of his hat in order to convince Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) to stay.
With Lisbon trying to decide whether she should move with her new boyfriend Marcus (Pedro Pascal) to D.C. in Sunday's episode, Jane finally speaks his mind and tells her he hopes she doesn't go. But his reasoning? "I think you'd be bored in D.C." Groan. Come on, Jane - give her something to work with!
Unfortunately, though, he won't get the chance - at least not right away. In the clip below, exclusive to TVGuide.com, Jane and Lisbon's conversation gets interrupted by U.S. Marshals, who come into the office with a warrant to arrest Jane.

6x20: "Il Tavolo Bianco" Sneak Peek #3 (Patrick Jane at a club)
On Sunday night’s new episode of “The Mentalist,” you are going to see more than just some good footage of the new Jane / Lisbon / Pike love triangle. There is also a case that needs to be attended to, and this will require Patrick to show off some more of his suave, sophisticated side as a charmer.
With that in mind, it is almost ironic that the sneak peek video below from Sunday night’s episode shows him mostly pulling one of the oldest tricks in the book in order to get the attention of a person of interest at a club: The “bump into her as she walks past you.” It seemingly succeeds, and now that he has her attention, he has to work his magic in order for he and Kim Fischer to get what they want out of this
But what about the Libson story? Don’t assume that anything Jane does here is going to have an adverse effect at all on anything that is going on between her and Simon Baker’s character. He is going to very much have her on the mind in this episode, as he starts to realize more and more over time that the feelings he has for her are genuine, but in order to really win her over, he needs to do something more than just have feelings. He also needs to act on them!
As we near the end of the season, the romance will pick up more and more. Sunday’s episode will have a balance, and should reassure you that good things are on the way.

But Lisbon reveals she's never watched Casablanca, nor is she a fan of "old movies." And when she nonchalantly offers to watch it with him, Pike realizes something's on her mind.
"I know moving to D.C. is a big thing, and it might raise issues you don't feel totally comfortable talking to me about," Pike says. "Let me know when you make a decision. I'll be here."

6x19: "Brown Eyed Girls" (Sneak Peek #2)
"Jane unearths a human-smuggling ring after he encounters a curious-looking stranger. Meanwhile, Lisbon ponders moving to Washington, D.C., with Pike."
Jane, Lisbon, and nostalgia (6x19: "Brown Eyed Girls", sneak peek #1)
Remember the old days of “The Mentalist,” when you watched the CBI take on the case of the week before the Red John investigation really started to get crazy? There is something about the sneak peek below that reminds us of some of the early days of the show. Maybe it is the sight of Jane, Lisbon, and Cho all together, and that they are working on a case that doesn’t appear to have too much to do with necessarily anything long-term.
Even though this is a standalone plot, what this show has nonetheless proven to us time and time again is that it still has a capacity to entertain. This scene features the three aforementioned characters coming up to what may be some sort of refuge … or a prison. This case could actually get very dark before it is over, but don’t expect it to be something that carries over from week to week.
When it comes to that subject for the time being, the large focus seems to be on the Jane / Lisbon relationship and trying to figure out just what is coming next for them. She’s going to have a chance to move to Washington DC, and you can expect that story to drag on for at least a few weeks while she weighs the options … and possibly also see what Jane is going to do about it.
Sadly, we have no more news right now for you on just what the future for “The Mentalist” could be. The show still has not been renewed for another season, and while we reported yesterday that Warner Bros. is shopping the show elsewhere, it’ll be a little while before CBS firmly makes their decision one way or the other.

Simon Baker’s Jane and jealousy (6x17)
On Sunday night’s “Silver Wings of Time” episode of “The Mentalist,” Jane and Lisbon are going to spend a ton of time together. In turn, this means that Jane is going to have a ton of time to start to get jealous over the fact that there is a new man in his partner’s life.
So is Jane finally going to start to play the jealous card? Maybe … but right now, he’s more into the “I don’t want to admit that I’m jealous” phase. Just look at his expression below when he listens to a conversation between Lisbon and Marcus Pike over some sort of plan they have coming up in the next few days. Pike’s not even there, and Jane is already acting like someone has come and taken away his birthday present five minutes after he received it.
This is one of the strongest signs yet from Simon Baker’s character that maybe the show is finally heading in that direction, which is good in that “The Mentalist” has never been a show without a goal. For six years, that goal was taking out Red John once and for all; lately, the only long-form story we’ve had is the one that led to Van Pelt and Rigsby getting back to their new life after former members of the CBI were being targeted. A romance is always an effective long-term storyline, especially when you’ve waited for it as long as we have here.
While the show’s future remains in doubt, let’s say this: If the show does wrap things up on CBS this year, they need to at least give some sort of inkling that Jane’s life is heading in a hopeful direction (hopefully with Lisbon). Otherwise, there was no reason to continue the story after Red John had been killed.

Jane reopens old wounds in 'Silver Hands of Time' (6x17 sneak peek)
Sunday's (April 13) episode of "The Mentalist" has Jane and Lisbon reworking a case involving a death row inmate. As we know from countless other crime shows, re-interviewing people in such cases can be touchy. Throw in Jane's penchant for out-of-left-field questions and you have a potentially very awkward situation.
All of that is in play in this Zap2it exclusive clip from the episode, "Silver Wings of Time." Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) speak with the murder victim's husband, Edward Feinberg (guest star John De Lancie), and his current wife, Mae (Jud Tylor), and they seem genuinely thrown by some of Jane's questions and observations.

Might it have to do with her first “pancakes” date with new acquaintance Marcus Pike?
If you’re curious, rest assured that so is Lisbon’s partner in crimefighting — as seen in this exclusive clip from the episode, in which Jane takes up the cause of a death row inmate who has two days to prove his innocence. John De Lancie (Star Trek: TNG) guest-stars as Jane’s latest foil.
Two new sneak peeks for "Silver Wings of Time" won't tell viewers anything about the case of the week, but they will help inform Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and Jane's (Simon Baker) tenuous friendship in the wake of Lisbon's date with Agent Marcus Pike (Pedro Pascal).
Picking up the morning after "Violets," Lisbon will drop by this week's crime scene in a taxi and Jane will be quick to realize why, even if Lisbon claims the cab is only because her car broke down. Meanwhile, the former CBI agent will be keeping her voice low as she sets up another date with the art squad member with Jane standing nearby

Jane Coaches Lisbon on Dressing to Impress (6x16, Sneak Peek #1)
On Sunday's The Mentalist, Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) dress to impress as they go undercover to try to trap a team of art thieves. But Lisbon — who cleans up pretty nicely, we might add — has a more difficult time adjusting to black tie attire than Jane does.
In the exclusive sneak peek below, Jane hilariously instructs his partner to "try a little less Joan Crawford, a little more Barbara Stanwyck."

Who says guys don't like to talk about their feelings?!
Nothing like a little bonding over some beers to get the scoop on your friend's love life, which is exactly what Rigsby (Owen Yeoman) is doing in this Sunday's episode of The Mentalist!
We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the CBS hit's March 23 outing, titled "White as the Driven Snow," which finds Rigsby, Cho (Tim Kang) and Jane (Simon Baker) all meeting at a bar for a drink.
And it's all toasts and bar talk before Rigsby and Cho team up to try and get Jane to open up about his feelings for Jane (Robin Tunney)!
So how does Jane react to their questioning? Watch the exclusive video to find out if there's a future for Jane and Lisbon.
