‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: See Rigsby, Van Pelt back in the mix

While we know that at some point Rigsby and Van Pelt are going to be done with the world of “The Mentalist,” the good news is that this has not happened yet … and we now have attached photo proof to go along with it.

This attached image is from “Grey Water,” which is the March 16 episode of the show that we recently said would feature the two characters at the Austin branch of the FBI, which is where we have also seen Patrick Jane as of late. So what’s the reason for them flying down from the northwest? Basically, they are trying to figure out what is happening that is causing many former CBI agents to be targeted by a somewhat-mysterious entity. Even though they are now in the realm of private security, that does by any stretch of the imagination know that they know everything.

We’re hoping that this investigation turns into some sort of story that at least lasts for a few more weeks when the show returns to hiatus on March 9, especially given that it is hard to tell just what else the show has going for it right now when it comes to the long-term storyline. Is there also something when it comes to Jane and Lisbon? Sure, but it is hard to see how much development we are going to get there before this season comes to a close … and we don’t know for sure if there will even be a next season, given the current state of the show’s ratings. This at least gives a reason of the characters to be present, and we’re excited to see them stick around.

Will The Patrick Jane Drama Be Renewed? Fans Lobby For Another Season Through 'Save One Show'

The Mentalist fans are making a bid to keep their favorite show off the cancellation chopping block.

Part of E!'s annual "Save One Show" event, The Mentalist is tapping into it's fanbase to show execs how much support their show really has. The "Save One Show" voting system has previously managed to save Chuck, One Tree Hill and Community by allowing fans to vote and/or tweet their support for a failing show that they would like to see kept on the air.

Now in its sixth season, The Mentalist is one of 20 programs on this year's ballot. Pitted against many programs that are currently struggling through their freshman seasons, the CBS drama made the list for a very different reason.

The Mentalist lost its driving force and placed Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) into an entirely new environment. While this move has the potential to lose viewers, series creator Bruno Heller did not seem overly worried about a possible drop in viewership.

"Not really concerned ... It felt to all of us like that chapter of the story was done. I think, frankly, the great asset of value of the show is in Baker's head and what he does. Red John never even appears as a character until this last episode. He was a feeling in the show and an objective, but in terms of moment-by-moment pleasures of the show, those are delivered by Simon Baker and [the rest of the cast], not by Red John," Heller explained to Entertainment Weekly during the fall. "I think it's going to be a great show after Red John. Then it's up to the audience to decide if they like it or not."

However, the series presence on the "Save One Show" list shows Heller may have been wrong in his prediction that viewers would follow Jane to whatever end. Despite this, making the list also shows that the series has a strong fanbase that could help champion it to a seventh season.

The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS

Do Patrick Jane & Lisbon Have A Chance?

The Mentalist's Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon are two halves of fans' perfect couple, but season 6 may not bring the pairing viewers have been hoping for.

Now fully immersed in the post-Red John, Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) have smoothed out the bumps in their relationship and are moving on with their lives...just not into each others arms.

Despite Lisbon's impending relationship with FBI Agent Marcus Pike, series creator Bruno Heller has not completely ruled out any possible of a Jisbon romance.

"They haven't been thinking about [their growing closeness] while it's been happening, so all this accumulated emotion and feeling has been building up, essentially, behind them," Heller explained to TV Line. "It's only when they step away from that and can turn around and look back that they will really start to see how they feel about each other, and it's great fun to explore that on the page. I think it's going to be a whole different look at these two characters."

Fans may have to wait until next season to truly see this concept play out, however. Lisbon is set to meet Pike in episode 16 ("Violets") and their five-episode arc will conclude dangerously close to the end of the season.

Despite this, The Mentalist writers could still pen a major Jisbon scene for the season finale. After all, Heller has conceded that there is a form of love between the two.

"I think there's a great deal of love between them and they now have to find out what kind of love that is and what does it mean," Heller told Entertainment Weekly.

Considering The Mentalist has worked hard to keep viewers through the transition from Red John to the FBI, it would be a shame fans were driven off by a relationship that fails to materialize.

The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Click the video below to see a preview for the series' most recent episode, "The Golden Hammer.

Jane's new car (6x13 spoilers)

The Mentalist" season 6 episode 13 is soon coming and here's what fans can look forward to.

Remember back on episode 12 of "The Mentalist" season 6 where Patrick Jane outlined his wish list to include an Airstream trailer? When episode 13 rolls along on March 9, viewers can finally watch the FBI agent fulfill his dream.

Back then, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) justified his choice as very pragmatic because the Airstream can both be his vehicle and office at the same time, which would save him a lot of time in his detective work.

Now Latino Post reported that viewers can watch Patrick Jane on the Airstream as he takes a road trip to solve a case. Another woman (strictly work-related) from the team will also join him on the road trip although the website didn't say who.

CBS announced a new addition to the cast: meet FBI Special Agent Marcus Pike who will reportedly be Agent Teresa Lisbon's love interest.

The FBI agent will be played Pedro Pascal, who was also announced to be included in HBO's very popular "Game of Thrones" series as Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne or Red Viper.

According to executive producer Bruno Heller per Entertainment Weekly, it's crucial for Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) to step away from partner Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and "see herself for herself" and that's why the agent has to have a love interest in the person of Agent Marcus Pike.

"In order for her to fulfill herself -- even if she eventually fulfills herself with Jane, which she may or may not do -- she has to find other relationships, other perspectives, other people who love her, just to feel fully who she is," he said.

Before the love story blossoms between Teresa Lisbon and Agent Marcus Pike, however, fans are eager to know what happens to former CBI investigator Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), who in episode 12 was stuck in a grimy and dark room with a killer.

Valentine's Day: Will Jane and Lisbon ever find true love?

Happy Valentines Day!

Will Jane and Lisbon ever find true love? Relive the most recent dates they have been on and judge for yourself!

6x13 "Black Helicopters": Jane Takes a Road Trip

When "The Mentalist" returns from hiatus, viewers will get to see Jane take a trip in his Airstream.

Viewers will get to see the Airstream in the first episode back when Jane (Simon Baker) goes on a mini road trip related to the week's case. One of the women from the law enforcement team will also ride along with him.

TVLine reports that Pedro Pascal, who has also appeared on "Red Window," will play an FBI Special Agent and Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) new love interest. Pascal also has an upcoming arc on HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" as Oberyn Martell.

He will play Special Agent Marcus Pike, who debuts in Episode 16. His character is described as "a charming man with integrity, a blue collar cop with FBI smarts." He will be instantly drawn to Lisbon when he helps Lisbon and Jane track a band of art thieves. He will be around for at least five episodes.

On the last episode of the series prior to the hiatus, the team investigated the suspicious death of a high-tech cartographer.

In "The Golden Hammer," the FBI began investigating the death of Charles Whitaker, a computer engineer who specialized in mapmaking in Houston, Texas. He apparently died from heart failure due to an overdose of illegal drugs. However, Charles had no drug history, and did not have any drugs in his house.

Jane, Lisbon and Fisher (Emily Swallow) meet Charles' brother at Charles' apartment, and Jane finds a newspaper that has some letters curiously circled. Meanwhile, Lisbon and Fisher check out Charles' company, and Lisbon gets a call from Osvaldo Ardiles (David Norona), who used to work for the D.A.'s office in Sacramento and was invovled in the CBI's investigations. He asks her out to dinner to discuss business.

After speaking to people at Charles' company, Lisbon and Fisher begin to think that Charles was worried that classified data had been stolen from inside the company. Jane decides that there is a coded message hidden in the newspaper, but he can't yet figure it out. Jane begins to think that Charles found a spy in his company.

Jane finds out that Charles found the newspaper in a nearby park, so he decides to go the park the next day. He leaves the paper on a bench to see who will pick it up. A man comes to the park and takes the paper. The FBI later finds out that the person is buying secret data from inside the company Charles worked for. However, Jane does not believe that the man or the man's client killed Charles.

Lisbon then meets Ardiles at dinner, and he tells her that he has the feeling that his phone has been hacked and someone is spying on him. He also has the feeling that somebody is following him.

Later, the FBI creates a setup to entrap the killer. They arrest Charles' brother to make the killer believe that he or she is safe to sell more secret data.

Jane, Lisbon and Cho (Tim Kang) wait for the data seller to show up. Avery Schultz, the CEO's secretary, finally shows. The team arrests her, and she confesses, saying she killed Charles because he found out what she was doing inside the company.

Meanwhile, Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) and Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti), who now work in digital security, are trying to find out who bugged Ardiles' phone. They locate Ardiles via his cellphone, and go to the location. But when they get there, they find that he's dead.

Van Pelt then searches on Ardiles' phone, and finds that there are 12 encrypted files with 12 names of people who used to work for the CBI, including Jane, Lisbon, Cho, Rigsby and Van Pelt. It turns out the entire former CBI team has been bugged.

The next episode, "Black Helicopters," will air on March 9 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.

A guide to upcoming episode titles

The wait for “The Mentalist” season 6 to come back on the air has truly been a long one … and you still have a little ways to go. It may be painful to think about, but it will not be until Sunday, March 9 when the show is back on the air with new episodes. Is there a silver lining with that? If so, we like to think of it as the fact that from really this date out, you’re going to get new episodes that take you through the rest of the season.

So what we have to share with you now is something that we know is almost always appreciated: Episode titles! While we know that a good many of these are vague and don’t really tell you too much at all about the story ahead, it’s still better to have a little bit of something than ultimately nothing at all. (Plus, more colors! That is the way in which the show still likes to do things even in a post-Red John world.)

The following titles are the ones that have at least been announced to this point, and we should have some more to share here soon enough.

March 9 – 6×13, “Black Helicopters” (a very ominous title, indeed).

March 16 – 6×14, “Grey Water” (something that could have a little bit more significant, depending on how you play with the meaning).

March 23 – 6×15, “White as the Driven Snow” (something that sounds like some sort of bizarre fairy tale … but knowing this show, one where someone gets murdered).

No date yet – 6×16, “Violets” (a very simple but pretty title).

No date yet – 6×17, “Silver Wings of Time” (which our brain wants to imagine as Jane realizing that he really needs to act if he wants to be with Lisbon … regardless of if that is true).

No date yet – 6×18, “Forest Green” as per source (which is just as ambiguous as “Violets”).

‘The Mentalist’ season 6 enlists (ironically) ‘Enlisted’ star for guest spot

It’s been a little while since we have been able to talk much about “The Mentalist,” but there have been some pretty big reasons why. For one, the show has been off the air for a good while, and we’re also not going to be seeing it head back in the immediate future thanks mostly to the beast known as the Olympics. While Patrick Jane may be able to take out Red John, some championship figure skaters may still give him a a run for his money.

What we are here to report today is that at some point later this season, a familiar TV face will be stopping by. As confirmed courtesy of her own Twitter account, Angelique Cabral, otherwise known right now as Jill Perez on Fox’s criminally-underrated and under-watched comedy “Enlisted,” is going to be appearing. Sadly, there is no word yet on just what sort of role she will be playing.

As of right now, most of the scoop out there about the rest of this season is that there will be a new love interest for Lisbon, and that Patrick Jane is going to have to continue adjusting to life without some sort of singular focus. That, in many ways, will be the major struggle that he and the show face. How do you make his journey compelling after he has found justice in his own way? That is a very difficult challenge especially since, in true realistic fashion, he never got all the answers about Red John that he probably wanted.

Behind-the-Scenes Look of New Episode Being Filmed, Jane to Deal With Austin Bombing (6x17)

The Mentalist is currently on a long broadcast hiatus with four episodes filmed and ready.

The makers are hard at work getting episode 17 together which will reportedly have the newly formed FBI team dealing with the Austin bomb squad.

Penned by Tom Szentgyorgyi (My Blue Heaven) and Rebecca Cutter (Red Listed), the James Hayman (Golden Hammer) directed episode will place the Dennis Abbott's (Rockmond Dunbar) FBI team in what appears to be downtown Austin, according to behind-the-scenes photos from SCV TV, reports Enstars.

According to the on-set pictures, it seems that Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) amidst shattered glass, cracked benches and a broken sign will be busy trying to deal with an explosion at the Austin Metro's Warwick St. bus stop (shot in Valencia, California).

This new episode is titled Silver Wings of Time and will air after the show's key plot points are addressed, which include: Disclosing who is keeping tabs on old CBI agents, the departure of Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) and Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) during White as the Driven Snow, and showing Teresa Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) new beau in Violets.

The previously filmed episodes yet to air are titled: Black Helicopters, Grey Water, White as the Driven Snow, and Violets.

The Mentalist will return with new episodes on 9 March. The show airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on CBS.
